fairing Install Today (now with pictures)
Well my fairing got here today and I got it installed at least mounted.....have not run power yet, but did hook it up to a 12 volt power transformer I have.......good sound.........CJ to answer your question the CWI billet mount Spotlights will mount without any problems and no modifications.......the only issue I had was that a couple of the mounting bolts stripped out on the female threads...I retapped and got longer bolts....the bolts were slightly short and did not get a good bite......you might want to consider getting (4) 8x1.25X25 stainless button head bolts to reinstall...the originals were 20 length...the extra 5mm gets a better bite.....will post pictures after I finish in the next few days

I had to replace a couple bolts with longer ones as well, It was ok until I used a couple bolts for ground screws, that extra little bit with the ring connector underneath made it so they kept working loose.

Welcome to the Nomad Fairing Society!!!! I think I need to do an aux fuse box though as I can't put anything else on my battery and might need to do that to get my GPS to work. :)

the next question is that I have several accessories running off the battery......Mac had posted something about a voltmeter or ammeter that goes in the power outlet to monitor load......anybody have any ideas.....would an ammeter on the power outlet show amp drain....I would assume as long as you have positive amp flow or volts > 13 then you are ok on the alternator...is this correct...not all accessories are on at the same time so max draw would not be continuous.
Thanks for any feedback |

Kyurakan makes a small led one - it seems to work well - getting used to having lights on ( they cycle between bright and dim - daylight / night) all dependant on where you mount the guage takes a while. I have mine on the top of the triple tree and sometimes it's in the shade of the fairing so cycles between bright and dim. It has served me well so far - I had a voltage drop issue ( turned out to be a poorly connected conncetor) and it informed me imediately!
