Boot Stirrups

Does anyone have any opinions on a good boot stirrup? Not necessarily the item pictured but a similar stirrup. I need to purchase a pair and would appreciate everyone's expert opinions! Thanks for the help!

I get 2" longer inseam on the pants so i don't need to use those. I always found they were more of a pain.

+1 on the 2" longer inseam for riding pants.

I gave my stirrups to VulcanE. Maybe he'll respond as well

I've used them before. Those pictured function better, but they are a pain to put on and to remember to take off. They also tend to pop in the middle of a ride if your jeans aren't quite long enough. Better to go with long inseam, imho.

I'll just say I don't like the way they look even though I'm not very fashionable myself.

I have found that by just using engine guard chaps, I can ride at 70-80 mph and my pant legs barely move.....I'm just sayin'....

When I buy jeans I intend to use for riding, I buy them in the next longer inseam size, just for this reason.

Boot Stirrups

I bought a set of stoneystraps. Not crazy about the way they look as I'd rather not have to use them, but when I ride on the highway pegs, I really don't like my pants going up and that looks worse. Inseam length doesn't seem to help in my case.

They are a pain to put on as I have trouble reaching down to put them on. :) :) :)

No comments Rich.......... :) :)

I bought some of that design that go under your boot sole, and found they were a bit of a hassle. There is another design however that I might try. They are called Ryder Clips, and I've seen them at ryderclips.com site. It attaches to the bottom lace or strap of your boots and then to the front center of your pant leg.

I have a set of the Stoney Straps, and they work pretty well. Like others have said, they are a bit of a pain to put on, but not too bad. I buy my riding jeans with a longer inseam, but they still are affected if I have my feet on the highway pegs.

Hi, Do the StoneyStraps clip on to your jeans or are they sewn on ? Cant you just clip them onto your jeans before you put your jeans on and then put the velcro under your boot after your boots are on ? These look interesting. My jeans are always going up my leg when I have my legs on the highway pegs. Pain in the a^*e.

they clip on to your pants.

Another option....
Buy the expensive riding pants with the stirrup already sewn in

I've never used them, but if I had problems with my pants going up i'd just safety pin the front of my pants to my laces.
