Last week I read in our local paper where the City of Mesa has retired 21 Kawasaki Z1000 police bikes (imagine how old those are) and replaced them with 21 Kawasaki Concours 14 w/ABS. I thought those were cool, but Hayabusas would be insane.

Yeah agreed, but we seem to have more than our fair share of insane lawbreakers in this state.

Don't know what OHP's policy is for giving chase. I would think that they would try just to keep them in sight... up to a point.

when the Utah Highway Patrol bought a bunch of 5.0 liter Mustangs back in the 80's, there were a couple of troopers who got in trouble for letting speeders get a mile or so head start and then seeing how fast they could chase them down.

Boys will be boys, even when they wear a badge, I guess.

Hard to imagine that the ergonomics on a bike like that would be what a motorcop would want to sit on all day. I'm sure they're fast and cool....

I bought it used in Springfield, MO. Found it on sidecar.com

Those bikes are not my thing but I thinks it's very cool how they fitted the hard bags and trunk on them. I didn't know they made bags like that for them.
