I might be gone a while. This system is sick and so am I.

I had to remove and reinstall my mo dumb and juno just to get on line this morning and that took a long time.

I am sick now too with clusters, and was awakened late in night to suffer hard..

So if I go poof there is two reasons.. The head thing makes it hard to concentrate.

A while back I got a trojan somehow. Avast said so and i quarentined it, but ever since this system drops me off line every 3 to 10 minutes or so. I am a patient guy, and just lived with it.

I am considering things you see here to try first.

I think the title of the thread was a typo. It was supposed to say Puff, not poof :)

Cluster headaches are considered the worst type of headaches, even more so than Migrain. Hope your feeling better soon Mac.

This worked for me mac:

Restoring Windows 98 registry

To restore Windows 98 registry, open a MS-DOS prompt

At the MS-DOS prompt, type cd\windows\command

Once in this directory, type scanreg /restore this will restore an earlier version of your registry. Once completed, reboot the computer and this should resolve any issues that may have occurred with your registry.

BD, before I do that, I did back up the system when it was working well.

So before I do anything which would you choose?

I have no idea what happens.. Like if what ever the file is will be removed.. if I knew what file(s) these were i might hunt them down one by one, but I don't.

Avast didn't pop up and say anthing, and I was doing a scan when avast came up with it.

All of what seems to be wrong is I get timed out frequently. I sort of suspect this somehow assist some other connection to somehwere else to get free or more power to run something I have no idea about, somewhere...

I don't understand code and what pirates can do, or why they are...

I will print that info out, but will wait for your answer if any...

Mac, I have a co worker that gets cluster headaches so severe that he has to be hospitalized sometimes for a couple of days with pain relief by IV. I've not had them but Bruce has told me that if he couldn't get relief for the pain he wouldn't think twice about shooting himself! And he is far from being whacky.

Well I have no option for any hospitals and even the meds i get are legal but bootleg.. nuthin about my little spot on earth is like anyone else.. I can understand that folks might want out out themselves, but I won't.. Sometimes I get pretty nutty with these HA's.. Makes me confused and sort of stupid. Ask your friend he will confirm that.

Partly getting beat up by demons, then late night dancing with the same demons.. When there is enough loss of sleep everything else gets confusing.

Mostly no one is willing to understand what this is like and I had planned to not discuss it. But I will.

It ain't no typical HA.. No pill can touch them since they come on from no where, try to kill you and leave about as fast.. Then if yer lucky another one won't come... If not there is no tellin..

The the other night I had 2 before bed, and the 3rd woke me up. The way you wake up is free of pain and a shadow hits, soon after you are downed and dancing with the demons.

The dance is real, and the demons seem real. Atleast I am not chronic. I had these a long time and didn't know what they were. I had 2 teeth pulled the dentist couldn't find anything wrong with even..

0.01% get this crap but this is how life is for me.. Always the most unusal things happen.

Most times I avoid any drugs and have so far, but if I could have gotten my chit together the other night I would have injected myself to escape. I consider that cheating since in a way like doing battle with the demons.

Sometimes i will go have a nice cold beer just to piss them off. I did that last week and drank 2 before the demons had time to gather, but when they did oh what a ride that was..

That part just might be nuts, but go see if your friend ever gets that pissed... I bet he says Hell yeah!

Mac everytime you start Windows 98 it creates a "go back snapshot" point. Go back a week ago for your restore point 'if" you think the registry is corrupted.

Well I got brave and re-installed back up files I made a long time ago to windows system folder.

As you can see I got back on line... but for how long? I hope what ever that trojan did is GONE! I know these files are pre that time.

I don't know if I got rid of the fubarred file though..
