A Must See for Law Enforcement Officers

This is a dash cam video of a shooting on the Centennial Bridge over the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities. The uniformed officer is from Davenport, IA and is also a guard in our Davenport office.

The bad guy had just knocked out a person with one punch about 15-20 minutes prior to this incident at a homeless shelter/soup kitchen. A nun at the shelter said that the bad guy was going to kill someone.

The bad guy weighed in at around 280 and was about 6'06".

Only one probe from the Taser hit the bad guy. You can see he had an initial reaction to the Taser but quickly fought through it and was on the officer. Think about the "what ifs" and prepare yourself for them.

Thankfully an off duty East Moline, IL officer was there to assist and was carrying.

Glad the LEOs weren't hurt.
It looked like the guy died shortly after being shot.He wasn't responsive while being handcuffed.

That was one large individual. I wonder if he was of altered mental status or otherwise chemically impaired during the episode (from the homeless shelter assault to the time of his assaulting the officer). Fortunately the officer wasnt permanently injured, and lived to go home to his family at the end of the day.

For our LEO members, thank you for your contribution to keeping the streets safe for the law abiding part of the populace.

I'm sure questions will be asked why deadly force was used....I wonder if Obama will say that these officers acted stupidly. ???

I wonder why officers don't use the taser with their weak arm and at the same time have their weapon in their strong hand.

Here' s the rest of the story that's hard to see in the video. Officer's eyebrow bitten off.

It is hard to believe that anyone can fight thru a taser but it is possible. There are many situations that will allow it, drugs and prior shock treatment are a couple. This is also true of persons being shot. Have seen multiple shots, including head and heart shots that seem to do nothing. Not trying to be critical here but the Officer backed himself into a bad position tactically and had no room to react or control the suspect. It happens only too frequently. Now retired, I expect to one day be a savior of an Officer in distress as I always carry...

IMHO, I don't know why the LEO used a taser to begin with. It may be normal procedure to do that, but if it were me, with a guy that size with his violent history, I would have had that Glock out and ready.

I commend the officer for following his procedure and the other officer for having his back. As for Al and Jesse, they need to make a visit to see BD and get some pointers on how to smoke a gar!
