Carbon Fiber Helmet

I am looking at HJC's AC3 carbon fiber 3/4 open face helmet. Currently wear a Fulmer 655. Having some neck problems and wanting a lighter helmet. The carbon fiber weighs 2.6 lbs. vs. 3.2 for regular fiberglass. Doesn't seem like a lot of difference is weight. Anybody have an AC3 or any other open face carbon fiber? Also thought about just taking the shield off the Fulmer to avoid shake and wear goggles.

Thanks Doc, I called them and their helmets weigh 24 ozs. Pretty amazing. I wish they made a 3/4. Then again, most of the guys I ride with here in FL. wear half helmets due to the heat.

I just wished they had one with a shorty visor. I like the visor to block sun from the top. that tropper helmet looks rad huh?? Welcome.

i have both the ac-3 and the ac-12 full face carbon helmets.the light wieght is nice and they look great.you should be aware
though that both these models have been discontinued and are
replaced by new model carbons.be sure you get a substantial
discount off retail on the ac-3.

Doc, they will install standard 3 snap visor. Lots of options for 3 snap visors available.

If you guys are going to wear helmets like that why bother at all.
Sorry, just my opinion. Sometimes I can't help myself

Thanks Doc. I have been looking somewhat for that type of helmet. I have neck problems and the light-weight of these may help me out.

As mentioned... they do make a visor option -- only a couple extra dollars.

TC: I hear you; but these still provide some additional protection; and if you get their DOT helmet you are covered up to those standards.
