Eat like I do and it will sit lower. Seriously, I am unaware of a way to lower my Nomad. I am dragging parts now if I ride aggressively and I don't want to give up any travel in the suspension.
I am sure there are some smart folks on here that know how to help you. Best wishes. |

best way is to have your stock seat cut down to lower you. mean City Cycle can do it or you can customize it with an electric knife and some skill.

It's hard to lower a Nomad. If price was no concern I'd recommend shorter shock absorbers, but that would be very pricey. It would probably be cheaper to get your legs stretched.

Besides cutting some foam out of the seat as already mentioned, you may be able to find a lower profile tire for the rear. Im not sure if there is anything available, and it would probably throw your speedo out a little more as well unless you get a speedo healer.
I have a Piper modified seat that makes you sit a little lower than stock. He is a member here, perhaps he could tell you how much of a difference it would make for you.

I lowered my last Nomad with progressive shocks. If I lower this one I'm not going more than an inch lower, as any lower the pipes scrape to easily. They were about $450.00 from a place in California. The relief and stability they gave me was wourth it. If nobody chimes in PM me and I'll look up the info for you and give you more details. I'll post it here as well.

When the wife had her 04 Nomad we installed the Mustang seat and it made a big difference for her. She is 5' 5" and has a 31" inseam. She had the Wide Regal seat which is wider on the rear protion of the seat and more tapered on the front. The seat alone was enough for her to ride with no problem touching the ground.

As I read the above reply, you could buy pants with a 34" inseam, that might help.

FFRON, Try this, it's cheaper than seat or shock mods, and you will have both feet firmly planted on the ground. Just my $00.02.....-Rich |

I'm 5' 9" and when I have the stock seat on its like i'm on my tip toes, when I put the Corbin seat on I get flat footed on the ground. Its hell being short.
