I think I know where the "crisis" will begin
Throughout history folks with dictatorial leanings have used a crisis of some sort (be it genuine or created by their consorts) to seize control of power or suspend the rights of the citizenry. I came across this story, and it causes me to be concerned. With the authorization of civilian internment camps and the overt control of the media, it would seem that this story shows that something bad could be afoot on our soil. Food is one of our most basic needs. If that is cut off then it becomes a survival issue. Seems if armed guards are already necessary to protect the food supply; it would be relatively easy to get to the next step: Anarchy (again, naturally occurring or by incited by design) requiring the use of emergency powers to quell the uprising. We've seen elsewhere how temporary erosions of rights become permanent under the boots of a dictator's armies. I hope this doesn’t fortell the beginning of that scenario here.

It just might be over food. Good excuse as any, and the US stock of stored grain has been about non-existant since 2002. I do farming, and in 05 into 06 saw empty silos across the USA and back.
Living in New Hampshire I see new on tv that Texas is in a killer drout, and live stock are being sold for what looks like glue to me. I don't know if this is true. 2 years ago there was a scare on rice and it was being rationed. Since then honey bee's came up missing, but seem to have created something of a come back. 3 years ago i had maybe 5 of them here, but not there are many, but local bee keepers are still geting to be lesser than... This past early Spring the Feds were talking making a home garden illegal, because they couldn't find a way to collect a tax. No sooner said and Mrs obama had her shovel. To me she appeared confused as to which end did the work, the point being if you wanted food you better do it yourself. If everyone counts on a farmer and most of them come up short, there is going to be a problem.. This won't be a problem guns will solve...

After I posted, I remembered something a little odd. it seems some people and I am one ordered seeds from places that sell seeds. If you don't garden any seeds seem like a small thing, but it is real weasy to spend over 100 bucks for a home gardens seeds.
Well one packet I got was supposed to be Delicata Squash and some seeds are, but not all, and right now i don't know what the other seeds are. They are something, and maybe what ever they are is editable, or NOT, but they sure are not what I bought. I think a lot of new gardeners created more orders fast, and whom ever in some many places made mistakes. What ever these are are big and shiney green like water mellons, but still to young to ID. I won't be with out food unless someone decides to confiscate it, but that could be a problem.
