'08 Nomad: where is the air cleaner?

I'm a new owner of an '08 Nomad. In reading older posts about cleaning throttle bodies, I've seen references to an air filter inside the right side air cleaner cover. My bike has an air filter under the left side air cleaner cover, but none on the right - just access to the throttle bodies and butterfly valves. Just looking for some confirmation that the only air filter element on the '08 is on the left side, so I can stop worrying the dealer left out any filter element on the right when putting the bike together (although I can't see how you could fit one in the right side). I'm assuming some prior year Nomads might have right side filters but at some point that switched to left side filters on the newer models. Thanks for any info!

There is only 1 filter on the left side with an tube between the cylinders to the right side for air flow

You know, I bought my new '08 back in April and have never taken the covers off. I thought there was an air cleaner under each cover. I like the looks of the two chrome covers though. It balances the engine look out.

Only the left side has an air filter, no filter on the right side.

many of us have modified things... many have a right side filter only, and or duel filters.. A duel filter set up means the right filter is doing 99.9% of th breathing..

I have a K&N setup on the rh side now, the lh side is just an empty dog bowl now. Regardless of where your filter is, cleaning the throttle body is something you shouldn't overlook. It makes a big difference in the performance and mileage, and restores your idle like new again.

When I bought my 07, I can't remember if it was the salesperson or the tech going over the care and feeding of the Nomad, but one of them told me it had dual air filters. I'm thinking it was the tech that said that. That inspires confidence!

I think the confusion lies in the description of left side and right side. Left side as you look from the front of the bike or left side as you are sitting on the bike ? It seems to vary depending on who is describing ? I usually state brake lever side or gear shift side then there is less chance of confusion.

Generally, left and right is referenced as sitting astride the bike, in the riding position.

You're almost right. If I may paraphrase...

There is only 1 filter on the left side with a tube between the cylinders to the right side for restrictive air flow
