In Custer, a lot of us were intrigued with Victors Turbo Nomad (sadly he hit a deer on the way home with it). I was talking about a Motorcycle Cruiser test of a Turbo Nomad as we were looking his bike over.
I was bored today and decided to look for that bike. Here it is click here ![]() Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I read the article just before the Custer trip. Never thought I'd actually see that bike.

Wish there were chats on the turbo unit and the install. I found one picture, of the plumbing..
They might want to build an intercooler and try that. back in the day Volo skipted that idea, but not for long. The inter cooler helped alot, and is why my tubo 1985 Volvo runs strong today with 250,000+ milers on the original turbo. There is a rule: change the oil change the oil change the oil change the oil change the oil change the oil change the oil change the oil.

macmac, I don't know if victor will ever see this thread or not, but he was certainly knowledgeable about this turbo. He said that he came to be in possession of that turbo that was in the story.
All I know is he was pulling the biggest trailer I've ever seen on a motorcycle. It would have looked big on a small car. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Interesting read. I would have loved to see the turbo in person.

It's actually a kit that is already available to both carbureted and fuel-injected Vulcan 1500 owners for something in the neighborhood of $4000, plus installation.
Lot of $$!

I bet the turbo causes you to go through tires in a real hurry, that bike would be a prime candidate for a car tire.

I've thought about Nightmare pulling that trailer, since I got home,Dan... and started to wonder if he had anything done to the brakes of his bike. I mean,..... pulling an 800 lb. trailer, two up, .......? You'd think he'd need something more than stock brake pads and disc's wouldn't you? Dan I was standing there with you and others at Custer and listened to Vic tell us his story, but I don't recall hearing anything about stopping that thing. Do you recall, or have any info?

That's the problem with towing with anything. It's easy to make it go,it's the stopping (safely)part that people don't think about alot of the time.I'm not saying this problem wasn't addressed on Vic's bike, just making a general statement.

I would bet there is some kind of electric brake on the trailer to compensate.
