Picture link, only if you're bored

In 2006 my wife and I went and lived in Tonga for 6 months. We had a great time.

She put together a slide show for one of her friends and if your bored enough to look at other peoples photos, have a look (Nico, watch for topless natives pictures).

To the right of Australia, and above New Zealand. A different day, plus 5 hours from here.

But it's the middle of summer there now :)

A little tropical diversion on a near zero winter day. Thanks. I enjoyed the trip.

Thanks for the comments. It was obvious in the pictures that the King of Tonga died while we were there, the funeral was a big deal and everyone on the island had to wear black for a couple of months. Those things we wore around our waists, we wore just on the day of the funeral so we could get closer (a respect thing).

If you're really, really bored, there is a link to pictures from our two weeks in New Zealand just below the Tonga pictures.

New Zealand is gorgeous. We stayed part of the time with a VROC'r, Toa. He gave us his car for a week to strike off on our own. Super guy. If you've been on VROC, no doubt you know of Toa.

If I could ride anywhere in the world, I'd probably choose New Zealand. Another VROC'r and I have a deal to host and trade bikes, he has a new Nomad too. Sometime, I'll go.

Tonight's 48 Hours Mystery show was based on a Peace Corp worker in Tonga.
