CDOT is trying

I've seen a few of these signs on Colorado state roads, usually on decreasing radius turns, and only marked in that one direction. Always thought is was interesting that they do that. Anyone else see them or similar elsewhere? Of course, most of us don't think we need to be reminded, but I appreciate the thought and effort by the State. Plus, I know a couple curves they could mark but haven't :-/ This one one is on the Peak-to-Peak Hwy (Colo 72) near Ward.

Ells,

Haven't seen any signs like that. However, in my neck of the woods we don't have no stinking curves. ;) It is nice to see the state putting up signs like that to remind the cagers.

CDOT is trying

When I saw the title of this thread I thought" Yeah, CDOT is VERY trying!"....just kidding, actually I think they do a pretty good job.
There's one of those signs on Hwy 24 eastbound a few miles east of Buena Vista. I never really thought of it as a particularly difficult curve, but if you miss it, it's a pretty long, steep drop to the rocks below.

Ive never seen one of those signs either, but its a good idea, especially for bikers that don't know the road.

I've never seen them either. Like waterman, there are hardly any curves in central IN.

Never see any signs around here like that. But as others have said, head east towards Saskatchewan and it is straight as an arrow. Look in your mirror and you can still see your house five hours later.

Yeah, know what you mean. I grew up on the Great Plains. Never a problem with your dog running away from home, two days later you can still see him running. However, there were a couple curves, for some odd reason, near the town where I lived and it seems like that's where the accidents would always be, just not expecting one I guess.

The curve at which I found this sign is really not that challenging, not sure why it ranked getting the sign. Maybe either based on earlier accidents or maybe an engineer some where got out his compass and protractor. I've only seen two or three in the foothills of the Rockies and AG has spotted at least one other.

No signs like that down here. We don't have hilly curves in the Southern part of the state where I live but we do have some wicked curves that decrease in radius. That is a very good gesture by the state of CO. I'm sure the idea will save some lives.

Our curves are marked with a sqwiggedly line and a suggested speed. It's usually not the first sqwiggle for which that the speed is suggested so you can't let your guard down. Most you can take comfortably 10-20mph over suggested. Some they aint lyin about.
