RH Titanium Hardbag Door Needed
Yup, a senior moment. I finger tightened the 2 bolts and got distracted and never tighted them with the socket. 65-70 in the passing lane and I hear the grinding noise. Looked in my rearview and saw it sliding down the road. 4 lanes of traffic dodging it and eachother.
Anyone know of any salvage yards that may have one before I turn it into Progressive?

Oh man, that's harsh Beezer. Sorry that happened. Kind of a sickening feeling to watch that I'm guessing. I don't have any suggestions for replacing it, but I feel your pain man.

Just throwing this out there. The cost of just an outer door assembley is $421. 59
That would be worth buyinng outrght if deductible if 500, but I imagine most of us are 250 deductible. |

Did you manage to reclaim it, or do you need a complete door assembly? Latch, inner cover, etc.?

Thanks AG, yes I did feel sh1tty but took it in stride.
samkjr, I must have a diminishing $100 deductible because looking at my policy it says $63 as a deductible on a collision claim. I guess when I insured this bike I remember pepole telling me how expensive stuff is to replace and something in my mind just said to go for the $100 policy. I dodged the traffic and grabbed it 1/4 mile back CJ. I then walked the median back to my bike and reinstalled it with cars whizzing by @70 2 feet away. I had my back turned to them and said a prayer. All I could think of is the cop video footage on TV where everything and everyone goes flying. I called Progressive and the man is going to look at it tomorrow. He said it's a collision claim. Anything under $1375 won't raise rates. I told him I found complete new bags for $767 plus shipping. I think he will work with me on this. The door, nice chrome handle, and hinges look like they went through a meat grinder with all the gouges. The black part is ground on the lower rear corner by the door. Replacing with a complete bag seems like the best, cheapest and easiest solution plus the paint will match and be shiny like the rest of the bike.

OMG! You lost the whole bag, it wasn't just the door that fell off. Dang...
Sounds like Progressive will make you whole. Say hi to Flo* for me, tell her if she's ever in PHX... *= Flo - the gal who does the Progressive commercials.

Hey Bob; it seems like youve had quite the summer on that bike so far. I see the bags on Ebay once in a while as well.
