To riser or not to riser
Well...there are several to choose from for sure. I am 5' 10" and I love my PhatRisers II from Scootworks. They are very popular among the Nomad Nation as they bring the bars right into your wheelhouse...but there are certainly other options....

To riser or not to riser
I have the Phat II risers and I love them. Before I put them on I would get a pain right between my shoulder blades after 30 min. of riding. Now I sit up straighter so no more pain.
As info I'm 5'9" and they fit me great. It raised my bars 4 inches and brought them back 2 inches. I put them on my 08 nomad and the cables are not tight at all. :) Had to use the off set holes to keep from hitting the speedo cowl. |

5'6" with an average arm length for somone that height -- so I needed the extra pull-back. PhatII risers is what worked best for me. It is was a major improvement for comfort and control.
'04 1500FI NOMAD... had to use the offset holes to mount them so as to miss the speedo cowling. Don't believe you have to do that for later models.

I also have the Phat II risers and really like them. As with so many accessories, viewpoints are highly subjective.
A much less expensive alternative would be to get a pair of Chuckster's risers (aka 'Chuckster131' on the KawaNOW forum). He's a good guy and produces top-notch stuff. However, his risers won't have the amount of pull-back that the Phat risers do. Nonetheless, you may want to consider... After installing mine, I had to run the front brake line outside of the triple-tree, as the brake line was no longer long enough. I haven't heard of too many other guys having that problem, but nobody seems to have the unique mechanical malfeasances I do. ![]() There's at least one other fairly popular brand- can't think of the name right now. I didn't think I needed any since I'm 6'5" tall.
I started wanting to relax more on the long rides so I purchased the Phat II. I like them and they really help. The only install "mod" I had to do was disconnect the brake tie down in the headlight bucket. I think I may have removed one from the handlebar too but I done forgot. |

2" Chucksters here, I am 6'2" and still love them. Priced right, and great service. I would rather help a board member than a company also.

I have the Aeromach's on mine too. I'm 6'6" but I like to kick back and put my feet up; these allow me to do that without having to keep my arms fully extended.

??????? Risers are handlebar mounting extensions..... Not sure if your understanding the topic OP. That would have nothing to do with my height?
Risers allow you to lean back against your backrest and easily reach the handlebars with your feet on the highway pegs. ::)
