I've been thinking about doing that Nico....but I recently bought two replacement bulbs at Wally World, so I hate to waste 'em. Let us know if they work OK.

I run a Wagner 80/100 bulb from Napa for 6 months and its bright! I've had no heat issues with it so far.

I've thought about changing my light, but I'm not sure which would be better since I also have a lightbar.
On another note, I just won an auction for Phat II risers, so I'll be riding much more comfortably soon!

I was told the newer 1600 Nomads could run this super bright bulb with no heat issues but never with spot lights. If my bulb burns out soon I will try the H4-ST bulb your trying. Does this bulb have a bluish tint to it? The Wagner is just clear. Remember I could be headed down that way in a few weeks so maybe a night ride is in order to compare bulbs?

Hey Brad....
The H4-ST is very "bright white"...... big difference fron the Phillips that was in there that looked dim and yellowish in comparison.... and yes, we can definatley do a comparison run! Nico |

I changed the main bulb to the H4 as soon as I bought my 2005 Nomad. This bulb is very close to daytime light color. Worth every penny.

I changed mine when I first got the Nomad last year. Ran brights all the time... after 10 months the bright burnt out (luckily the dim still worked). Replaced it with the same style but with the TV suffix rather than the ST. Very bright but will see how long this one will last.

I was having problems with my headlight burning out too soon(6weeks one time). I have changed the bulb trying them all, then I got the big idea that this was a bunch of crap... I think it's a vibration problem ! I unbolted the head light bucket from the inside, took it off and put rubber grommets between the bucket and the mounting area. This provides shock absorption and does appear to be working. I replaced the last bulb after the grommets, close to 8 months (about 13000 miles)ago. And I run it on High all the time during the daylight.
Just food for thought... ![]() |
