Got DynaBeads!!

I just turn over 12,000 miles on the 08 Nomad. I put it on the road on Valentines Day. The Bridgestone center tread on the rear was almost worn down slick. The front was a little over half worn. Had Central Texas power Sports in Georgetown, TX install Dunlop Elite3's.
150-80-16 bias on front
180-70-16 Radial on Rear
I had them put 2 oz of Dynabeads (dynamic balancer) in each tire.

So far the first 30 miles down I-35 is great. No vibrations.

After I get back from my northeast run (Fort Wayne, Niagara Falls, DC & Elkins, W.VA) in the next two weeks I'll give a report.

txcwdancer, I heard that is a great place to buy tires. I thought I would use them when I need tires.

Did you just leave the bike and how long did they keep it? Look forward to your report.

Got DynaBeads!!

Preliminary Dynabeads Report:

I just got in from a 400 mile ride up to Dallas and back.

Absolutely phenomenal. I don't want to discount the Dunlop Elite 3's because historically they have been good tires for my riding style.

However, as to balancing, No vibration an any speed up to and including top end.

Did five coast at idle tests:

30, 45, 60, 80, & triple digits (All GPS Validated).

I got it up to the steady speed, pulled the clutch lever and let the engine idle.

Just the satisfying whisper of the passing wind and the ride was so smooth I hardly knew I was moving.

Next is to see about longevity, tire wear, and any side effects..

As of now I strongly recommend them.

Great People to deal with. They use their tire pricing and mounting as a leader to try to draw customers into the dealership.

They sell tires at $10 over Dealer prices from their distributer (Parts Unlimited or Tucker Rocky) Plus tax and state disposal fee. Turns out to be about the same price as www.ronayers.com

The charge $18 per axle to mount & balance. Of course they charge $48 if you buy tires elsewhere.

I had a 1:30PM appointment (I know quite a concept for a Motorcycle Dealership). I waited for the bike and was on the road before 3PM.

They had to order my tires in advance since the didn't stock my size. It took under a week to get them here

.

Got DynaBeads!!

I bought some from "White Horse Press" in North Conway NH, at 2 bucks per ounce. Just the beads in baggies.
They have a kit with a small plastic bottle, a couple inches of hose, and (3) 1 ounce bags, I think for 8 bucks.

So far as I can tell 'we' need 2 ounces in each tire, even if we run a car tire rear..

My beads are waiting on a car tire to show up this week.

I put 2oz of Dynabeads in each one of my tires as well....The tires are running smooth...I'm hoping that the tire will last a bit longer than normal also.

Is there any issue with changing tires that use Dynabeads? Like...Are they fine enough to become airborne and be breathed in at a tire change?

The beads are small, and seem to have a natural static electrical charging ability, so if anything I would consider re-using them. I have no idea, but guess getting these out, would be like gettinggrains of sand out of a tire, pretty tuff to do if the tire is layed down flat.
