Misc (Coaster/Intake/CC Breather) Questions

Installed Chucksters coasters today. I removed all of those misc hoses as well as the round junction box thing. Also removed all of the old intake and test fitted Chucksters dual plate. It went fairly well (although very time consuming) but I ended up with one small vacuum/air line left. I think it was attached to the round junction box thingy and it look like it goes to the top of the throttle body. Am I supposed to remove this? Or plug it?

Also, what size is the hose for the crankcase breather? The external filter I got is way too small.

Finally, what are the IAC tubes for (that run just under the throttle body into the breather)? I know they get capped off but can they be removed? I can't see what they're attached to between the cylinders.

I forgot about Gadgets site. After reading that, it just brings up more questions.

Quote:
Once the air valve is free you'll find either wiring (1600 engines) or a vacuum hose (1500 engines) connected to it.
I have an '07 so it's a 1600 but I didn't see any wiring. I DO have the vacuum tube. He goes on to say:

Quote:
With FI bikes you'll really need those long nosed pliers now to reach the little tiny hose clamp tucked down between other plumbing. With that free use the pliers to pull the hose off the throttle body. Put a vacuum cap (supplied with the Barons kit) on the opening where the hose was.
So, is the 1600 supposed to have wiring to the air valve or a vacuum tube? I can't see anyone transplanting a 1500 motor into my bike. I want to make sure I do this right.

EDIT: Just went out to the garage to double check. There's not even any place on the air valve for any wiring and there definitely IS a vacuum hose. How do you tell the difference between the 1500 and 1600 motors? Looks like someone swapped motors before I bought the bike. If it helps, there were 2 hoses that went into the bottom of the OEM breather backing plate. The small one went.....nowhere. It was capped off.

That's a 1600. Look at the Valve covers, also the injectors are from a 1600.

So Gadget just typed "1500" and "1600" backwards? I'm good with that. I can get a vacuum cap tomorrow.

There is no wiring going to any vacum lines, just make sure you cap off any hoses you disconnect. If you have a vacum leak the motor will not run properly.

Regarding that small diameter hose, plug it by siliconing a long machine screw in the open end and zip tie it to the frame or wiring harness.

The IAC hoses are attached to tubes which run up over the throttle body ending in two vac hoses which go to ports on top of the intake. I removed all of mine and capped the two ports on top of the intake.

Thanks, guys. I think I might just remove all of those lines and cap them. Anything to eliminate some more of that spaghetti mess around the motor. I'll have to figure out a way to plug the holes in the breather back plate but that's easy. Getting to the ports on top of the TB will be a PITA. I'd rather not remove the TB.
