2010 Fall Salmon Season

As many of you know....the old fishing guide in me comes out every year about this time and I have to spend a few days every Oct/Nov chasing the Chinook and Coho salmon that invade our coastal rivers with the fall rains.

Here is a photo from last Wednesday. With all the early September rain, conditions were near perfect (ie: recent high water, dropping to the perfect flow, rising barometer) for this semi-secret coastal stream, so me and a buddy b-lined it over there. We got three really nice Kings and missed two more. These were about 35 lbs. each, both nice chrome hens.

Here's a tip for you...if you're not fishing around me, you're fishing in the wrong spot...
