winter; the continuing saga
At present snow is falling outside. They are forecasting 6-12 inches. Thank you very much TopCat as it is coming from your direction. In the course of my job as an oil delivery driver I have taken a few pictures of the driveways that I encounter. Here are two. The first one is a steep climb on which I didn't quite make it to the top as evidenced by the shiny tire marks of my truck. The driveway had a turn near the bottom and the trick to sliding backwards is to let the wheels roll so you can control the path of the truck and not slide off into the deep. The problem with that is you need to apply braking so that you don't slide across the road at the bottom and go down the next hill. Fortunately, it all worked out.
![]() This next picture is what happens when you get snowstorm after snowstorm and the homeowner gets tired of clearing off his driveway all the time. Eventually, when snowfall is 6 inches or less he just drives over it, or he has no more room to plow it. If you look closely you can see my dual tire marks are wider than the driveway and getting my truck in there is like a St Bernard trying to mate with a Chihuahah. ![]() I guess I had better go out and clean off my SUV and go to breakfast before the snow starts coming down heavier. Have fun all of you down south and ride one for me. Login or Register to Remove Ads |
