Ca emissions removal

My 07 has the Ca emissions control box (box wired in above the tool kit). Is there any benefit to leaving it alone or would I be better off in removing it? It'd be nice to have some more room for storage but I don't want to affect the way the machine runs or have future problems if I disconnect something important.

Ca emissions removal

I had to remove my emissions canister in order to mount my cruise control servo. I removed the stock air filter and replaced it with a 7" K&N unit. More recently, I removed the intake crossover tube. I am considering removing my reed valves and installing coasters.

I was reluctant to do some of this, because Maricopa County, AZ is the only place that currently requires emissions testing of motorcycles. Pending EPA approval, that requirement may soon be a thing of the past.

I don't know if you gain any performance, but removing the emissions stuff does clean up a lot of hoses and other crap around the engine.

Ca emissions removal

There are no prefomance gains for just removing that box.. Pretty much you can't just remove the box either.

You can get rid of the entire mess, but in a prescribe method. There will be some capping off of things, and other changes.
