The ballon has come down with no one in it. At this point they don't know if the boy fell out somewhere or if he wasn't in it at all.

I'm watching a Denver feed through one of our local stations. Man, I hope the kid was never in it.

It just occurred to me that this could be a hoax. Maybe the kid was never in the balloon and the parents knew it.

That's entirely possible CJ. I would rather it be a publicity stunt than to think the kid fell out somewhere!

I caught it at the gym on all the TV's there. I came home to continue watching it and it sounds like the parents were avid weather watchers, and this was only made to take instruments up.

The are now searching the route the balloon took, but at the time that I started watching it was losing altitude, but was still at 8,500 feet (like 3,000 feet above ground here).

If it's a hoax, it's going to be a very expensive one. It held up all the flights out of DIA going east, and National guard helicopters etc. If it is not a hoax, this day will mark time for this family from here on out. Life before this day, and life after. It'll suck.

It was only an older brother who said he was in it, we'll see what it ends up being.

The boy was never in the balloon. He was hiding in the attic of the garage all day.

This mobilized an amazing amount of law enforcement here in Colorado following the balloon, and then searching the flight path.

Why the kid hid in the attic?

1) Dad: " if I catch you kids messsing around that balloon again I'll beat your A$$ till you can't sit down!"
2) Kid: "Oh crap the balloon took off!"
3) Activate disappearing strategy.

I watched this family on the news tonight and something smells fishy. I am sticking to my theory about this being a publicity stunt instigated by the parents. Time will tell.

I agree. The kid said he was up there playing with toys and eating snacks. Kind of sounds like someone helped him get comfortable.

It's been confirmed by law enforcement. The "runaway balloon" was a hoax. I hate to say I told you so....

It just didn't add up to me. I hope these boneheads never see a penny from this.
