They made a 1600cc version of the Marauder. Why stuff a 1600cc motor of another brand in there? Seems like a lot of work just to end up with what you could have bought from the factory.

The Suzuki Marauder 1600s came from the factory with Kawasaki 1600 MeanStreak engines in them. It was a joint venture with the 2 companies. I run a Suzuki Marauder 1600 Intake, throttle-body, and injectors, with a 1600 MeanStreak ECU on my Nomad, and I really love the improvement.

I guess he means 6 and 4 piston callipers, not 6 and 4 calliper brakes.

Suzuki sold Mauraders here as well in Canada, they were the same as the Meanstreak, but about $1500.00 cheaper.

Me neither, now is it a Suzsaki or a Kawauki?

I'm pretty sure it was a lot more than just the engine. From my under standing it was a Meanstreak with a different rear fender. The tank, front end, etc was all the exact same.

Looks like the head light and dog bowl is slightly different too. But pretty much the exact same bikes.

The headlight was a bit different from what I remember.

Looks like the gas tank and rear fender are different. I was under the impression that the 800 and 1600 Marauders had different frames but I've never owned either.

The equivalent Kawasaki was just a little bigger on everything. 35 lb heavier, about an inch taller, 3 inches longer, and almost a gallon of additional fuel in the tank.

Kind of weird but the only spec where the Suzuki beats it is wheelbase where its about an inch longer. It may be an illusion but in the side by side pics, the forks look longer but the rake is more shallow on the Suzuki. I was trying to find specs to prove/disprove it but got tired of looking.

In '04 Suzuki sold THE Mean Streak as a VZ1600 M95. The differences were minor. Rear fender, headlight, and apparently the dog bowl. Beyond that, it's a Mean Streak. I have an '05 Streak and am also on the Mean Streak forum. There are a couple of guys on there with Marauders. After they changed the rear fender for Low&Mean, and put new intakes on them, only the headlight looks different.
