Quick Release Rack System

If you switch from Solo to two up very often you will appreciate this mod.

This is the first of my quick release components I've been working on. I Borrowed a quick release rack from a Harley buddy of mine. Took some dims and adapted that to the Nomad. Picked up the Latches online an the Tour Pak rack. Then sat down at my computer, did a lot of measuring and came up with the layout on my CAD system. The nylon anchor points bolt on where the backrest brackets went. Then cut the side brackets from 1/4" aluminum. Laid out the bolt pattern on the tour pak rack and built mounting bracket for that. I also have brackets drawn up to accept the Stock backrest and my Tour Pak.

I can remove this rack in about 30sec. and when project is completed , change to either the sissy bar, solo or Tour pak in no time at all. Longest operation is adding or removing the passenger seat.

I'd definitely consider that. So I guess after I finish mine and have all the fixtures done. Only one stipulation though, you would have to polish it yourself. Otherwise you couldn't afford it. I hate that part.

Very nice - when I see stuff like that I start thinking "How could I build that with a jigsaw, a hammer and a couple of sawhorses..."

I agree with the rest, nice work. I would certainly be interested to see what you will charge for it. I love the look but like to be able to have modular options. Trips or two-up riding, etc. and yes, I can polish it myself. LOL

Keep us up to speed.

very nice, looks great. Obviously you're a machinist or at least have machining background and access to a milling machine.
