Saddlebags chaps / bottle holder
finished one project (saddlebag chaps??) and almost finished the bottle holder. I had no desire to put chaps on my bags but a couple members asked about them, so here they are. I actually like them now. Attach with Velcro on bottom. Nice look and fit.
The bottle holder is attached to my saddlebag guard chaps. Over 7" h and about 3.5" w. Holds my coffee mug and a bottle, so I'm happy. The pic is my work in progress. Design is done, I just need to create another holder with my good vinyl. Its supported by nylon straps in 2 places vertically, and the bottom is 2 nylon straps sewn together. Its extremely sturdy and lightweight.

Nice! When I had my Nomad, I looked all over for something like this: http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/saddlebag-guard-bag---water-bottle-holder-pa-02-9199298--1
but had no luck.

The bag bibs/protectors turned out real nice. Are you going to be making any tank bibs or tank bras?

Yeah, i have one started and actually templated, but haven't put any into production. I have a 1500 and need to buy bibs for other models to template bibs. The water bottle holder, bag chaps, and bag guard chaps I'm willing to make and sell if anyone wants them. If not, I'm happy with em.

the work all looks great. I have a bottle holder on my saddlebag bars and find it a little difficult [dangerous??] to remove while riding. Actually getting it out is Ok it's rtning it to the holder that I think is kind'a sketchy. I'm thinking of putting something up near the fairing/handlebars.
I like my bag chaps, but mine don't have the velcro.....I might see if I can sew some on. Good idea !

The saddlebag guard chaps - They would fit a Voyager Yes/No/Maybe?? I have been looking everywhere for those with a pouch for one side and a bottle holder for the other . . .

I have a cup holder on my handlebars right now. I never use it while I'm moving. At a stop light, that's a different story. Therefore, I don't THINK the vinyl bottle holder would be any different, although I could be wrong.
You should be able to mod your chaps fairly easily. I suggest using a combination of upholstery thread and all-purpose thread (the upholstery thread on top and the all-purpose in the bobbin), and the result is a strong stitch that will last. I triple-stitch the velcro at the ends where it touches the vinyl to further strengthen it.

Me too. As of right now, it's running great. I took it 60+ miles round trip last night and had no issues at all.

This is what I've come up with so far. I know the pics aren't that great, but hopefully you can get the just of it. I still need to attach Velcro to it. The plan is to have it fold back on the top and bottom (where it narrows) and attach to the back of itself via Velcro. The Velcro will go from top to bottom so that it can fit on multiple bikes/models. It's approx 6" wide and the main part is 11" long. The total length is 21" long. This weekend I will attach the Velcro, take pictures of it on the bike, and create another panel (for the other side of the bike) with a pocket and flap. As of now, what do y'all think?
A friend at work told me that he has the HD bottle holder (~$80-$90) but he doesn't use it. When he removes the bottle while riding, the bottle holder collapses and he can't get the bottle back into it. Mine has 2 nylon straps sewn on the inside of the bottle holder to keep its shape all the time and to help reinforce it. The whole panel is actually 2 panels of vinyl and sewed them together (front to back). It's strong yet flexible.
