Idaho's Jack Adapter Review w/pics

Well, it's a nice winter day and I finally got around to reviewing Idaho's jack adapter before he sicks a posse on me.

Here's all you need to hook it up, 2 nails and a coathanger

Just bend the coathanger around the freeway bars to hold the front up

Pull the bike towards you and slide the jack under and up it comes nice and stable.

In this position the bike is completely stable so you can strap the bike to the jack if needed or go about your business of cleaning or tire/ oil change.

This is a very easy to use product that makes working on your bike more enjoyable with the peace of mind that it's not going to fall over on the ground, or worse yet, fall on top of you. I highly recommend Idaho's jack adapter.

Wow, nice review Beez. Thank you. I really like mine. It sure made changing the oil a lot easier. I look forward to pulling the wheels off with it.

If anyone wants one just send me a message. For now, I'm only charging enough to cover the cost of manufacture and shipping so that I can help more guys get their Nomads in the air.

I like the way you slipped the wire through the front tube to hold it up to the frame. Good thinking.

Several of you have sent me personal messages asking about how to order these. It is very important, unless you are patient and in no hurry, to let me know as soon as you put a check in the mail because I have to order the adapters and it usually takes a week to get them into the manufacturing process. If I know when the check is sent I can have your kit being built at the same time. Thanks for the interest so far.

My understanding is you neeed to use a plywood board to raise hig enough to get adaptor and jack to clear bike. Beezer just went for bigger is better.

My jack is a Craftsman and with the adapter in place will not roll under the bike unless I raise it by 3/4 inch. I tried to make the adapter thinner to get around that issue and it worked but the adapter frame bowed too much so we went back to a stronger steel tube. I use plywood cut to about 1 foot square. Beezer used some 2x6's because that is what he had laying around. I've also done that but found that I needed one for the kickstand too. By usuing the plywood nothing is needed under the kickstand. Idaho's Jack Adapter Review w/pics

Hey guys. I've been thinking about modding my Craftsman jack for some time (OK, years if I really must confess my lethargy) but this looks like a nice idea.

From the photos, I can't tell where the front of the bike lands on the adapter though. Does it land against the frame or just under the crankcase?

BTW, I used to have to run my front tire up on a board to get the jack under as well, until I changed to a taller ME880 160 series rear tire & learned to keep the tires and shocks pumped up. Now it slides right under (though with the adapter I'd still have to use the board.)

the frame, the reason for the adapter is so it doesn't touch the engine at all, hope this helps :)
