She's clean again!

Went outside at 06:00 today and started cleaning my bike up, gave it a nice bath, polished it up real nice and shiny. Also I finally installed my Stebel horn and went to Autozone and bought the 9" chrome air cleaner assembly and installed it.

After the trip through the Zion tunnel last week, I was suffering from "horn envy" and dusted off the Stebel I pulled from my Boulevard when I traded it for the Nomad.

She's clean again!

I was suffering from "Turtle Wax envy", mine was so filthy.

Look for the photo of me parked between two giant saguaros in Barstow.

Evidently the sprinklers went on in the middle of the night right there and sprayed the heck out of my bike. Barstow must have the worlds hardest water too. There were so many white spots on my bike it looked like it had been attacked by a flock of dyspeptic seagulls.

My bike got sprayed every night by the sprinklers in Mesquite, rained on in Salt Lake City, and covered with red dust from Monument Valley. It was filthy.

She's clean again!

I took my time and "washed" my bike for the first time in over 2 years!! I hated to take water and soap to it but I did carefully and dried her off and a head to toe wax job!!! Yes,,, I'm back to just looking at my bike and waxing it Todd!!!! She has a fresh oil change and final drive lube change all synthetic. I love her!!!!!!

Until next time boyz. Keep your girl clean and maintained!! We will ride again!!! Western Rally rules!!!!

Pictures CJ, we must have pictures. We are male, over 40 and visually stimulated. I have not felt the need to install louder horns yet, but I am waiting until someone comes out with a locomotive air horn mod.

I finaly got mine cleaned up with soap and water too. It sucks because I can never get it all dry before I get hard water spots on it and then I have to polish those out. But boy did it look nice when I got done waxing it!!

I assumed everyone has seen a Stebel horn, Bruce. I'll take some pics and post them.

A louder horn like a Stebel will definitely get the attention of even the most inattentive, cell-phone yakking driver.

EDIT: Pictures added

Here she is, all shined up...

The Stebel horn and 9" air cleaner assembly...

Same thing, close-up...

CJ you need to add a K&N filter on the set-up and you will like it. Ive done it and its alot cooler. Another point is if you wash your bike with a Mr. Clean wash system and then spray it down with filtered water, you just walk in the house have a cold beer and let her dry. NO water spots I promise. use it on my vehicles and bike. Saves all the drying.
