Vaquero parts
Hey guys, SOOO I laid down the vaquero today to avoid having to slam into the back of another car that had to slam on its brakes due to an asshole in front of him. No room to swerve right due to a utility truck to my right. Was just wondering if anyone has or knows where I can get a new front wheel faring and a crash bar. Those are the only things that I know of right now that are fucked... I appreciate anyones help with this one.

Try leaving a little more following distance next time to avoid those "panic situations".

I don't understand how "laying it down" on purposes stops faster than using the brakes.
Using the brakes has rubber friction on the pavement. Laying it down has metal and plastic sliding on the pavement. Seems rubber would stop faster.

I understand that rubber stops it faster. The fact was even with the distance I had the rubber would not have stopped me in time before slamming into the back of the car in front of me. If I hit it I probably would have flipped over the car and most likely died. I chose the route in which I thought was best to keep my life. My life is more important to me than the bike is so that is what I chose to do. I know a lot of people will agree with you and I do too. But in the situation I do agree with the path that I chose.

Glad you're ok, totaled mine last April, ended up with some broken vertebrae but still riding! Too dumb to know any better. :)

Glad to hear you are ok as well! Oh ya it's a scary situation, but it won't keep me from riding either!

Glad you hear you came through it in better shape than the bike.
Good luck finding parts and getting it back on the road.
