What's Your Occupation?

I realize that we've discussed this before but the thread is buried deep in the anals of KawaNOW information. Plus, I want to hear what newer members do for a living.

For the sake of helping my "Did You Know" project, please post your occupation.

I have had a few jobs over the years from being a snowmobile mechanic, hydraulic mechanic building hydro equipment, working at a automotive machine shop, truckdriver, mailman, manager at a tow truck dealership where we built wreckers and sold accessories for Vulcan wreckers, and a product manager for a rep agency where we imported hydraulic and pneaumatic parts, hoses and fittings and distributed them to wholesale suppliers across Canada. For the last five years I have worked for the regional school board here maintaining the control systems for a large high school as well as some elementry schools in the area.

Jack of all trades/Master of none.

I've been a small engine mechanic, a carpenter, insurance salesman, armed security guard, male stripper, copy machine technician, auto mechanic, and fighter plane maintenance specialist in the Marines. My degree is in accounting/business mgmt.

For the past 20 years I have worked in IT, done nearly everything, but mostly as an AIX system admin. For the past 2.5 years, I am a Senior WebSphere Administrator for a Fortune 500 company (#144 in 2009).

CJ,
That's just wrong.....and yes....I am paying attention. How much did you have to pay chicks to watch you perform.... ??

As for me.....I am a Public Works Foreman (aka- Head Finger Pointer) in the Street/Storm Maintenance Division of a local municipality. I have worked in the PW Dept. here for over 30 years.

For 13 years I owned and operated a part-time fishing guide business....I also do some occasional outdoor writing for a regional fishing magazine called "Salmon, Trout, Steelheader".
