2018 Vulcan touring

Did I read Kawasaki's website right, that they are only offering one color choice for the vaquero and voyager?

Kawasaki appears to have lost interest in their cruiser lineup and are focusing on the lines that sell.

The sport bikes get updated every 3 years or so.
The Versys came out 10 years ago and is on its 3rd generation with a 1000cc and 300cc version added to the family
The dirt bikes are constantly being updated.
The sport touring has been the same since '10
The touring the same since '09
The cruisers haven't done anything in years and the 1700 lineup is a fraction of what it once was.

My guess is Kawasaki has a new large capacity cruiser/tourer in the works.

I kinda hope not! Cause then I'de have to have one. I almost have my 2014 perfect, for the moment. I think I'll tear it apart, clean it and make sure all the bolts are tight. Then it will be perfect, right after another Ivan upgrade. Then it will be ..... Ah Crap, bring on something new so I can start all over again.

If they drop the Voyager/Vaquero all together will that help or hurt the resale value? Not looking to sell mine as I will keep it until I retire from riding.

Hurt. They dropped the Classic 1700 and the values plummeted. They dropped the Nomad 1700 and the values plummeted. Heck, new Voyagers hae been selling for 25% off MSRP.

I guess that sucks for those that are going to be selling in the future. I will keep mine until I retire from riding and then sell for whatever it's worth and be happy for all the years I had with it.

An answer to the Transcontinential?

Greetings,

The 1700 line has been around since 2009. That is nine model years? The 1600 was from 2002-2009, so eight model years. IMO there were two 1500s, first the BUBFs and then the more popular version of the 1500s. So you might be right RedJay.
Other speculation has been that Mama Kaw is loosing interest in the big cruiser market... I hope not, have been a fan of Kawi reliability and styling for 35+ years.
Guess it'll be 10 months before we know the answer...

Nevertheless, their Voyager 1700 is still attractive.

In the past the Vaquero and Voyager were available in one of two colors to represent that years models and those colors would not be used again (as told to me via dealer). The 2018 model Vaquero and Voyager have only one color choice.

The 2015 Voyager had only one color choice, since that date they have only had one color choice.
