I wear sunglasses made from used Harley Davidson parts (similar to the parts I'm selling in another post here).

The Nolan is a modular of sorts. It has a face guard that is removable, not a fan of that.
I also want a helmet that fastens with D-Rings.
The only helmet that I have found so far that has what I am lookin for is a schuberth S2, but it is $699.

Shoei's new Neotec has a internal visor and D-rings and sell for $584.09 @ Revzilla.
Nolan's new N-85 full-face street helmet has the internal visor but a Microlock® (adjustable quick release) retention system instead of D-rings. Price is $212.45

They are so inexpensive, there has to be something not right with them.

I wear glasses for eye protection 99% of the time. I have tried several type over the years, but I have the best luck with cheap aviator style glasses. My nose was broke a couple of times and most of the wrap around type will not fit right. Plus since I wear reading glasses I can put my readers on and have a case in my pocket for my riding glasses while out and about, a quick swap for in and out of buildings. I have dark ones for bright daytime and yellow lenses for cloudy days or night time. I keep them in hard glasses cases on the bike.

My eyeglasses have the transition lens, I like them and I don't have to carry an extra pair.
