As for the railway crossings I think what Tom may have meant was 45 degree as a minimum. We have rural railway crossings here in Quebec and Ontario that intersect roads at a angle sometimes making it hard to cross the tracks at a true 90 degrees.

That is exactly what I meant Norm. Thanks for clarifying.
A couple of the railway crossings that we'll hit cross the road at or more than 45 degrees from perpendicular. Quote:
