Vector batwing-Not good

I got a vector batwing for the bike and installed it last night. It fit like shit! The opening where it slips over the windshield brackets was at least 1/4 narrower then the bike and could had to "stretch" the damn thing to get it on. I had to chase 2 of the holes where the outer shell went over inner piece because the threads were stripped. Overall piece of crap!

What year of Nomad are you installing this fairing on? The 1600's have a 1/4" wider spacing on each side, whereas the 1500's are a 1/4" narrower.
Perhaps you are trying to install a fairing made for a 1500 onto a 1600 front forks.

put it on a 2000 1500 nomad. $300.00 with shipping. Inner and outer pieces. really felt flimsy to begin with but thought maybe once it was one would be a little stiffer. Damn thing squeaks going down the road. Will NEVER get there stuff again.

There is also supposed to be a rubber gasket between the inner and outer fairing, at least there is on the Premeux and HD fairings.

I would have sent it back if it was that bad! Bummer you got a piece of crap! Next time for a low price Bat Wing look at the Reckless ! Loved mine, and Amin has my fairing no and loves i!
As for the squeak pick up a roll of auto door trim, comes in black or chrome and trim the outer shell, then put back together, that should take up the slack between that and the inner! Also add to the looks :)

Sounds like a fairing for a 1500 Classic the forks are about 1/2 to 3/4 narrower than the Nomad even the 1500 Nomad . I know this to be fact because when I put a Nomad front wheel on my classic I had to shorten the wheel spacers for each side. The ones for a Nomad were even longer than the classic spacers too. I know that doesn’t help you any now but it may be why it was the way it was.
