Question KQRpassenger backrest and luggage rack, mounting quick realease kit

Hoping some of the other riders can offer up some info for me on the fitment of the passenger backrest kit, luggage rack and KQR mounting kit. My question is has anyone using this set up on their Vaquero with a mustang seat and how is the fitment. From the pictures on the accessories site it shows it to be fairly low on the tapered rear section of the stock tapered seat. I have a mustang seat and don't know if it will fit being that the mustang seat is quite a bit thicker on the rear and am worried about it fitting up against the rear of the mustang seat. All opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

I have Mustang seat with the Kqr. the bottom of the backrest cushion sits right on top of the seat. The problem is this makes the backrest almost useless because it is so low. I raised the cousin up several inches makes it usable. Send me your email and I can send pics.

Thunder MFG makes 4 and 6" backrest extensions which will give you plenty of height to make the backrest very useable.

Thanks to jtk for the info and pics. To Puckman77 I was under the impression that Thunder Manufacturing was out of business. Is this fact or fiction. Thanks to all that replied

Youtuber Yourbassfan has a good video regarding the Mustang seat and KQR backrest.

Thunder went under...... they won't even reply to an e-mail about their old sources.

The matching Mustang sissybar pad has the mounting holes offset, so although it is basically the same size as the KQR pad, it rides higher.
