How to Replace Kawasaki Vulcan Oil Pump Gear Without Splitting the Case

Here Ya go...easy oil pump gear replacement....


Just got thru trying it on a 99' Nomad, not bad. Took about 10 hours....dropped the c-clip twice, had to go fishing....

by the way, what is used to cover over that drilled hole in the case?

Just leave the hole open, oil sloshes around....theres a thru hole thats not too far away....if someone just wants to block the hole off....since its a 1 1/4 hole, use a 1 1/4 freeze plug, and just tap it in....

WOW, Very interesting Vid. I think I would leave that job to someone that has more patients than I do.

Or, buy a new gear and machine the shaft out. Then tack weld the cog onto the existing shaft. A lot easier, and no chance of dropping bits inside the engine either.
