You'll definitely earn your 'iron ass' title for that ride!

Tried and tested for 300 miles per day. I'll try to push it for more. The key is I am retired and have no firm agenda. 350000 Sturgis partiers probably won't bat an eye if I get there later.

Vulcanizer ran like the wind through rain non stop.Stopped in Tallahassee to get some needed rest. Next stop gambling.Sturgis might not be in the cards. It is to rough on this aging body.Absolutely the most mechanically sound machinery.Lot of raves from the men.I am still working on the women folk.

"A mans got to know his limitations." Frequent rest stops, hydrate, go at your pace, have fun. Destination not important.

Adventure is over.I went as far as Biloxi and decided to turn back.1200 miles and I am am back home.Truer words were never said.Enjoy your ride and know your limitations. My observations:Headlights are inadequate for night driving,Stock mustang seat is a killer, some fuels are better than others, nomads are for Interstate driving..Will be selling my 2006 1600 nomad and upgrading to a vaquero. I definitely need more comfort and bells and whistles

Do you have a backrest? Adjustable? Makes all the difference in the world, Mustang has one. Driving lights are a must if you ride at night whether its on a Nomad or the Vaq. Do you have foot pegs on the crash bars to stretch out on, personal preference I know but anything to get comfy. Do you have risers on handle bars? I have an 06 Nomad and have added the above along with a Tach, phone holder, charger, use ear buds for my tunes, throttle lock and rolled my bars up to mini ape height, as well as Memphis Shades fairing with Long Rides recurve windshield, finally comfy enough.
