I had 500 miles on My 1500 Classic and it started to leak. The dealer wanted it for 2 weeks to fix it. So I bought the seal. And then Pushed it in to far, fell into the motor. realizing I will never get it out I Put the old seal back in put it back together. ran to the computer and Bought the Kawasaki Service Extension= $800.00. 40,000 miles later No issues.

Don't be a Dumb as like me. I was just lucky, but only because I purchased the extra insurance. If I didn't it most likely would have caused major engine failure. Worrying about it took a lot of fun out of riding it for quite sometime.

Well, I tried to order the seal, and it is not shown on any parts breakdown at the dealership. Unfortunately the Ron Ayers links are broken. Going to try the gasket sealant to see if this works. The seal around the shaft thou does not look like it has been moving around. It appears to be firmly seated.
Is it possible that the Clutch solenoid is leaking?

Well, almost thru with my move to WA.....OK, your pushrod seal is probably ok, but you can have a seep from the oiling lines going to your angle drive. I have also seen the alt. cover leaking, at the start, looks like a pushrod seal.
If your pushrod seal is sliding back and forth with pushrod, clean out hole really good, then spray some brake cleaner on a rag, clean it out one more time, then some isopropyl alcohol on a rag, do it again.
Now, clean the seal with some spray-on brake cleaner several times, then with some carb cleaner....then with some alcohol. Install seal with some good ole vht silicone....let it set good before trying it.....usually a day.

When you push the seal in put a washer a little bigger than the seal on the rod. That way you won't push it in too far.

Thank you for the replies. So, I cleaned the area, got sealant made sure everything moved freely. I put it all back together and now can only get first and neutral. I was very careful and didn’t force anything. Clutch appears to have the same feel. When I took it back apart I could see the shifting linkage moving but it acts like the clutch isn’t engaging enough. I feels like it is hitting something hard.
Everything worked fine until I pulled the slave cylinder off.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thank you saw that, unfortunately there is a dash and 4 more digits. That area starts with that prefix.

It could be the seal between the drive shaft and where it comes out of the motor. That is where mine is leaking. Again, on the LEFT side....

Ok, been a long week.
I took the bike off the lift, and fired right up, went around the block, and all looks great. Wife says lets go for a ride. Everything is buttoned up, so why not. Get on the road, running fine. Stop for gas and fired back up, back on the road.
Rode for about another hour and stopped for a short break and some water.

Went to start back up, and only loud "Click" from under the seat. Looked over everything, and saw that I had pinched the main power feed. Battery tests from my jump pack as an error.
Waited 3 hours for a tow back to the house, wife not pleased with me.

Ok, ordered new battery and just finished charging, still no go. Loud click from under the seat and will not even attempt to turn over.
First, I wished I had checked to see if anything was pinched while putting back together. Everything else looks fine, I am now baffled.

Any help that you may have is always appreciated.
