DFI relay. Digital fuel injection

I've had my second DFI relay fail. It caused the fuel pump to stop or hesitate.
I searched the Internet sites and found a replacement that is less expensive.
The pilot pl-ry1 is available at Summit racing. It cost 7.95.

Could a bad relay cause the pump to continuously prime? I've got that going on.

If it stuck closed it could cause it. In plug the DFI relay. It's under the right side cover. Round relay. I've had 2 fail the other way.

Ah well, my relay is fine. No continuity when no power. The moment i added power I heard it click into the correct position and had continuity where I needed it. Sigh.

The signal that makes it click comes from computer.
Should stop in 3 seconds.

Make sure the signal from the computer is turning off.
Sounds like the relay is stuck

Thanks for this! I was having a weird problem with what sounds like my fuel pump running over and over after a ride, so replaced this as a shot in the dark.

Fingers crossed!

I had my fuel pump hesitate some a few weeks back, it would happen intermittently. Sometime it wouldn't "whirrr" in the startup routine, then eventually it would prime and start.
I replaced the relay with a Pi-lot (now branded as Navigator but same company) anyway this morning the pump went through the routine and shut off, but when I started it I could hear that whirrr sound again... might be normal I've never heard this after it starts though.
I think I'll pick up a DENSO brand from NAPA, as that is the Brand that I pulled out in the first place and it lasted for 9 years.

Once the engine starts the pump has to run.

Good find. That happened to me about 5 years ago. Mine didn’t quit completely it just wasn’t maintaining 40 lbs.

You may have a bad ignition switch, if the pump doesn,t come on for a few seconds it may be that the contacts in the switch are either worn or stuck. Ive cleaned my switch a couple times over the years when Ive had that happen.
