Mark Moore (RIP) posted on Kawasaki Delphi forums about riding up to Utah and suddenly feeling the worst groin pain he had ever felt. Said he could barely keep the bike up.
He pulled over and found a stinger where no man ever wants to be stung.

I had to swerve to miss a freakishly large sugar beet. It was bouncing off a truck and down the road toward me and it looked to be the size of a human head.

Mayflies...thick unavoidable cloud of mayflies. Wife was on her bike behind me with no windshield at the time. Thought I was going to have to pressure wash our helmets and chaps after we got home.

OH YAH, the roads get slick, too. Never hit them on the bike but up at Lake Milacs I have hit them in the truck. Hard to Imagine on a bike. WOW.

Have heard and said, a real biker knows the bugs they hit by the taste!

I said that alot before I got behind a windshield and eventually a fairing. Ahh, youth...

Ride safe,
Smokier

Two 10 year old kids, standing at the side of the road waving - nice. Then the little buggers threw handfuls of rocks at me, the bike and my wife on the back and took off. Emergency stop! Both of us chased them into a holiday trailer park and found them hiding in the washroom. Called the cops who attended and found the father. He looked upset so I left the kids in his care and did not lay charges. Few scratches but held her it up so no harm to the two of us. Kids didn't realise how fast a Vulcan can do cross country when the owner is mad!

Probably the strangest thing - Hit a bee of some sort that ended up between my prescription glasses and sun glasses. 70 MPH Interstate, heavy truck traffic. This thing started walking around on my glasses. (Note - I only have sight in one eye and this bee was walking around on my eye!!!!) I do the only American thing I can think of Rip off my glasses and Sunglasses with my left hand and shooo the bee away. Figured I could maintain speed with my right hand Right. Now glasses in left hand, not much chance of putting them back on, How am I gonna pull the clutch in to ease off the road? (wife asking my over "intercom what's going on up there" "Beeeeeeee") Oh remember the bee - Well I see it crawling up from my crotch area - Saw an acceptable berm and pulled clutch in enough with 2 pair of glasses in hand to get stopped - Exited bike rather quickly. No Sting.. Then there was the time I had a bee go right up my pant leg and sting me on the inside of my upper leg. Pulled off into a drive way and down came the pants to remove that thing from my pants. I did get him and stompped him - "Wife on intercom - "Where's my Camera!!!" I don't like bee's!

I was following a friend once... quite some time ago - he had a 500 Titan, I was on my GT380.

Coming into a small town, he suddenly heads for the verge, dumps the bike on it's side, and starts tearing his clothes off... Gloves, ex-army greatcoat, scarf, sweater, all the while jumping around & swearing.

He'd had a yellow-jacket go up his sleeve, & start off stinging him in his armpit & down his chest.

I recall I was about as sympathetic as most teenagers would be... thought it was hilarious.
