Vaquero rear shocks

I recently picked up a 2011 Vaquero, I believe they came with rear air shocks. Is this true ? If so where are the air valves?

At the top of the shock facing out. if you don't see them look on the side facing in. They may have been installed backwards.

If there are no valves to add air they are probably aftermarket Progressive brand shocks.

Ya definitely no air shocks .... Does look like previous owner must have swapped them.

If my partslist is correct, the vaquero should have the valve for the rear shocks under the seat. Only the Voyager has valves dirctly at the side of the shocks.

There is also a 200 euros difference between Voyager and Vaquero shocks.

Sven

Sven is correct, all Vaqueros came with air shocks and the schrader valves are under the seat, with hoses going to the shocks. Plastic body panels cover the top of the shocks so you may not see the hoses.

And the shocks are not Self leveling ( not the right term). You must adjust each side separately. Do not use an Air compressor. Get a small hand pump that has ZERO LOSS. I use a 30 LB so the gauge is more accurate to read ( Less # on the dial). They need to be the same on each side for handling. And You really do not need to jack up the bike. You can do it on the ground. But I would support it upright if you can then fill them. Stay under 30lbs ? They say you can go more but do not think you will need to. Im running 13 at 190lbs single rider with the pre load on 3 ( side of the shocks). Go from there to make your self comfortable.

Hope that helps.
