occupations of riders in general?

Hi guys,
Just thought it would interesting to see what those that visit this forum do for a living..This is meant to see how deversified we all are, and how we become 1 when we add something as simple as a motorcycle.

We as motorcycle owners/riders in general are a very deversed group of people. I have met riders from all walks of life, and the majority of them would lend a helping hand under any condition.

I will start:.. I am a police officer. A Deputy Sheriff. I have been into law enforcement for the past 7 years. I am currently a K-9 handler and drug interdiction officer, working the highways in an attempt to locate illegal substances..I am also a D.A.R.E officer teaching 5th graders the negative effects of drugs and alcohol, as well as peer pressure.

I worked in the construction trade for 17 years before law enforcement. I still run a small side business doing remodels, additions, interior and exterior work..Gotta pay for my motorcycle riding somehow. :)

I hope this type of thread is allowed..If not, then please delete.

I work in the IT profession. I am a Senior Systems Administrator for a global electronics distribution company. Basically, I manage the software that interfaces our webservers with back-end applications. I've been in IT for 17 years. Prior to that, I've worked as a field service engineer, auto mechanic, and a Marine.

Work for a tank trailer repair facility in sales / operations. 26 years in the business. You guessed it , burned out.
Temps will be in the 70s and 80s during my 4 day weekend. Will release some of the stress in a couple of days.

I,m a Chiropractor. I retired about 4 years ago after 24 great years of practice. We now winter in Fort Myers and spend our summer months out west, usually in Colorado for 2 months, and where ever the rest of the time. I have a brother (meat) also a KawaNOW member, that I like to ride with back in Illinois.

I'm kind of imitated here with all of the professionals on this board.

For the past 45 years I have supported my family as a member of the Teamsters Union driving truck all over the USA. My current run is 540 miles a night 5 nights a week.

I have logged 2,250,000 accident free miles in the past 21 years.

Thank You Rallyjunkie for your service in law enforcement...-Rich

I'm the Street/Storm Division Foreman for a local municipality (30 year employee)....and yes...kinda burned out...but still hard at it, especially these days with all of our snow and ice!

As a child of the '70's...having done lots of uhhhmmm...research...yeah that's it.... ;).....I can firmly attest to the negative effects of illegal drugs. I still enjoy a few (okay, maybe more than a few) cocktails now and then...

I work Performance Production.
I have worked as a professional musician and audio engineer since the late 70s. Used to work as a musician on the stage while contracting audio on the side. That's pretty much reversed now that I'm old and not so pretty anymore. Gotta have skills behind the scenes, yanno?
While I still mix shows, I spend most of my time designing high end performance audio systems for theaters, arenas, stadiums and churches.
We also have a touring division whose clients include:
Jars of Clay
Linkin Park
Blue Man Group
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
The Offspring
Sammy Hagar
Styx
Il Divo
Guster
Diana Krall
Norah Jones
Ricky Martin
R.E.O. Speedwagon
Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band
and several others as tours go on and off the road.

I'm a marriage and family therapist with my own private practice.

Prior to that I worked as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator. I can run a bulldozer, front end loader, backhoe, excavator, and track hoe. I can probably run more, those are just the ones I really operated.

Until recent years, I would still do a deck or a kitchen remodel as a favor for friends and family. Now I won't even do that, it seems too much like work. I only do it for myself now.
