For me it was no better than the stock seat.

Haven't tried the gel nor the Airhawk personally, but I have been told by many people the Airhawk works great for long trips. Throwing it out there as another option. Maybe someone who has used the Airhawk can chime in.

It depends what causes the pain to begin with. The Airhawk doesn't do much for me.

I have an Airhawk that I used on my Nomad and liked it to keep from getting tailbone pain. I can't use it on my Voyager because the seat is higher and I don't feel safe using it.

I have a gel seat and didn't notice much of a difference. So put the original back on (have ~75k on it)
As for the air hawk have one of those for the my other ride, I like it and have one for the passenger also and she likes it. You are welcome to try out the gel seat if you want, send PM if interested. Not much ride time left here in New England.

I'll weigh in on the Airhawk... I've used one on my Nomad for several years now. Very comfortable. The ablity to making adjustments in the cushion is nice on those long hot rides.

I now have three seats; the original, the Kawasaki gel seat and a Corbin Young Guns.
In order of most to least comfort for ME - Corbin, original, gel seat. The Corbin has been fantastic and looks awesome so the original does not get much use anymore. However, the gel seat is a MUST for the GF when compared to the other two. Fortunately, she rides her own bike most of the time! |
