Finally put the new grips on

Well, kinda new grips. Got a great deal on a gently used set of ISO grips from a member here, about 7 months ago.

Fairly easy to do. Usual pita to get that left cap off. Throttle side went well, considering the screws look to have been taken out, and semi stripped.

Would have been better if I did this 7 months ago. Then I would remember where I put the end cap screws. Took them out of the C90, which I'll eventually have to replace. Nice to have the same diameter grips on both bikes now.

Grips

I am looking for new grips for my 1600 nomad as bugs have been eating the stock ones on the bike.
Not sure what kind or brand is best .
Any ideas?

I placed iso grips with stiletto ends on the Vaquero...the throttle side was pretty easy. I did this after sending the throttle grip to Rac'n Ray for the mod....that along with the Ivan flash has made the bike very manageable and easier to handle on/off throttling transitions.

I've gone with ISO grips on the last three bikes. No complaints with them.

Kuryakyn grips have treated me well on several bikes. ISO, Transformers, Kinetic, Flame, take your pick. I currently have the Kinetic's and like them. Not as fat as the ISO's or Transformers if diameter matters to you (small hands).

Ride safe,
Smokier

I had ISO's on all my Vulcans, but moved over to Avons on the Nomad and again on the Voyager. They're a much nicer feel without gloves on, slightly smaller diameter, better actual grip with gloves on, and come in a heated version as well. I'm on my second set of heated ones, after wrecking the first set high-siding the bike only a week after installing them <sigh>
