What a bonehead I am!!! I actually have that part on order, but didn't think the caps were part of it. Clearly they are there, with the circlip grooves on them. THAT is why I seek assistance. Looks like I have a spare driveshaft.
Thanks, Redjay, for setting me straight! Jon

I would say take the new u joint completely apart and fill it with the grease you intend to use in your grease gun.

You guys realize that greaseable u-joints are weaker right? They have cross-drilled holes through them.

Well, now you have me thinking, Dave! I guess I'll wait until the u-joint gets here and see how much metal is removed to create the channels. You would like to think it would be overbuilt enough to be able to have small channels drilled. Hopefully I can see in the grease fitting hole and tell how big they are.

Many on here have used that replacement U-joint and not had any problems. Way back when, I ordered one, and when I got it, I decided to redo my stock one. The reason is the cross members are smaller than the stock one, and like Dave pointed out, the grease-ways made it that much smaller.

Can anyone assure me that this will fit my 1999 Nomad please. One of the buyers at the bottom of the link, says it was oversized for his machine.I seem to recall someone on here saying they had a problem fitting these to their bike.Thanks.
