I don't know why they don't offer the option to get a bike painted in what ever color the buyer wants, then have a wide selection. Thats what Harley does.

If you order a bike, that's true. Most people buy off the showroom floor.

You can have your bike painted any color you want.

Yes....I am still holding hope that Teri Conrad had the right scoop. She said Maw Kaw said expect big things from the new Concours.

I was in a dealer today and they had a brand new 2014 that they were selling for 12900.

If the 2015 Concours does not meet my expectations I would consider getting the Yamaha FJR. My only concern is the ergos for taller people.

The great thing is I'm in no hurry because I love the bike I ride now. I just wish I had more time to ride it.

If your concern is for height, the Beemer and Honda STs are it. Everything else is sportier. Oh yeah, the trophy. That would work too. My guess is that Kaw is putting the 14r based engine in it. It's 50ccs bigger. May be they'll add some features too. It's hard to believe the c14 got long in tooth so fast.

maybe but my dealer was told that they were not going to put the 14r motor
in it due to poor fuel economy and long term reliability concerns.most 14 r riders don't put to many miles on their bikes.

I said 14R based, just as the current engine is based on the original ZX-14. In other words, just bump the displacement a bit. That said, they need to add some things to it, like cruise control for one. It all depends if they want it to be in a class with the FJR or the Trophy/RT/KGT. If it's the former, then there's less to do, if it's the latter, there's more to do. I know people complain about the linked braking in turns and cops that use them say it's a little tougher at low speeds than other authority bikes. Kawasaki may also fix issues that knocked it out of consideration for authority work. I hope they fix it towards the Trophy/RT/KGT side of the equation and also give it more relaxed ergos.

Before you go for a C14 be certain to read about valve checks and adjustments. Horrific job and huge expense.

It's the same with the FJR and K1600. I don't know what the Trophy is like. It's relatively easy on the RT, but I wish the intervals were longer or as long as the others.

Don't know about the K1600, but while the FJR is a challenge, from what I read, the C14 valves are in a class by themselves. You basically take the entire bike apart.

From what I understand, there's checking the valves and adjusting the valves. Checking them on a K bike is a $300 job. Adjusting the valves is over $800 and probably requires specially tools. It's why I would never buy a K1600GT, even it calls to me. You have to hear that 6 cylinder engine wind up. :) The valves have to be checked every 18K miles on the K bike. Mine is 6K, the new water cooled RT is 12K, but the boxer engine is easier to work on. I don't have to take any bodywork off to adjust the valves. Now changing the air filter and transmission fluid, that's a different story.

And the H2, no? Looks like Kawasaki will have something to show this year.
