I'll be different...go for the black / grey.....I just don't care much for white bikes. Either way I think you'll probably love the voyager

I recently stopped at a dealer in Virginia Beach and sat on and liked the new nomads vaquero and the voyager. It sounds like a good deal and if you're planning on upgrading in the near future you might as well pull the trigger cuz your trade in value can only go down. I love my 08 nomad but the new voyager is a great bike. I recently bought my nomad in perfect condition w under 5000 miles for 7k. I love having a great bike and no payment. I plan on keeping her for a good while but will probably buy a new voyager when the time comes. I love the new voyager and don't think you can go wrong w it. I would prefer more paint color options but the bike itself is sweet. Good luck whatever you choose

Paint options only come with an HD purchase....like 20 different ones. Kawi gives you two per year....take it or leave it. I'm not loving either one...but the white/gold is the better of the two. $6500 is indeed a great trade-in price....but keep in mind my as-is Nomad has about 5k worth of add-ons...a couple of which will come off the bike and stay with any new one...like my highway pegs, cup holder and GPS for instance...

Add ons don't get you any more on sale/trade in. I can't believe I just said that.

The blue black Voyager has been the best colour option offered so far (for me). Not crazy about the 2012 colours but if I had to choose it would be the white/gold. I have a red black 2010.

You will notice that the Voyager is quicker, and more nimble in the corners, also easier to handle at low speeds with a passenger. The front forks work better than the older Nomads and the fuel range is extended before the low fuel light comes on, 270km versus 240km. If you and your passenger are "plus size" try sitting on the Voyager together. You will feel more cramped.
I went from an 05 Nomad to the Voyager.

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...................... !!
I can solve your problem...

Just get a Harley without a trunk... and put your trunk on it. It will fit on the bike, and you'll have your storage-space and rack. Simple Kris.

If they truly do give me the $6500 in trade....I'm not sure I can pass that offer up. Coupled with the Costco discount....that really is a pretty sweet deal.

I'm a little surprised everyone likes the White/Gold one so much. It is a unique color combo for sure....and I too picked that one over the other when looking at them side by side....
I think you got as good a price on your bike as you ever will Kris, if your going to move up this may be the perfect time for you. I'm not sure if I'd be in love with the colors offered either, but sometimes they grow on you after a while.
My favorite was the red/black Voyagers.

OK KRIS just admit it ,you have bolted everything possible to your nomad. So you want to start over on a different ride. I agree the the new bike disease is hard to cure. So just do it

yep and he can allways finance the few thousand more that the harley cost
and take a much lower trade value from the harley dealer and end up with just
what everyone else in his nieghborhood is riding.and then of course he would no longer be able to be the norhwest region leader.

Randy....good to hear you chime in! Thought we might have seen you in Canmore, you missed a great rally! The thought of spending more money for bling is kind of making me ill.....but at the same time, the opportunity to do some things is in fact pretty exciting. I guess the color combo will have to grow on me....but it is for sure not like every other bike out there, so everyone would know it is you when you roll up!

I am going to call the saleman first thing Tuesday morning. They are closed Sun-Mon so we'll see if he is still willing to deal. If so....I will be up there Tuesday afternoon making it happen. There are a couple things I would want them to put on the new bike before I even take it home, like my GPS....my secondary power outlet for the wife's heated gear, some Vance and Hines slip-ons....and maybe one or two other little items.

That said....I may be without a bike for a couple weeks before they could get that stuff in, installed and ready to go. We'll see what happens...you would think buying a new bike would be an exciting time, but it just seems to tie me into knots....especially when I really wasn't ready to move just quite yet. But when opportunity knocks....sometimes you just have to act.

No chance the Wompus rack (I'm assuming that's what he has) will come close to fitting on a Harley.

What Bob said.....

Kawi Deal:

18,500 otd....-6500 trade....-4000 cash....leaves 8000 to finance....

Potential HD Deal:

24,500 otd....-3500 trade.....-4000 cash....leaves 17,000 to finance...

I'm not a math wizard....but even my Norwegian blockhead can see substantial savings in buying the Voyager... Just sayin'....
