Quick note on buying anything from Reckless
Alex at Reckless just contacted me and said that other groups have been using our coupon code to get a discount on buying fairings.
So, from this day forward, if you purchase anything from Reckless, you will need to call them and send them a copy of your membership certificate from the VBA to take advantage of the discount. Remember, if you don't have a member certificate, email me at trip@vulcanbagger.org and request one. They are free. Once I validate you are a number-issued member, I'll send you a certificate in PDF form. Thanks, Trip

Or get them to join VBA, and then they are members...

Is Reckless an advertiser on the board? If so great and then I see some value for our members to go through the process as it benefits the board. If not then the reality is when I bought mine last year it was cheaper to buy direct from Reckless through E-Bay than through their website with the VBA discount Code.

Somehow, the Yami guys found out about our discount code and used it. Rather frequently.
That's why I'm suggesting to all of our vendors to accept a membership certificate for VBA discounts.

I think your suggestion of using our membership numbers or certificates is a great idea.

Well, that sucks. Why do people think they are entitled to someone else's gratuity. It is a major problem with our society anymore. Everyone thinks they are "owed" something as a consumer because of "this and that" and any other reason. EARN YOUR OWN SH*T!! Sorry, got on a soapbox.
I think having proof of our membership here is a great idea.

If Reckless has the margins to offer discounts why do you have to be a member of a forum to get a better price ? Lower the price across the board and everyone benefits ? Whats wrong with that ?
