I definitely want a large one for the back of my vest. It would be great to eventually have small regional patches available too....just a thought!

Regional patches will become available, after we get the main VBA patch in place

Why can't you set it up so we order direct from the company making them?
That way you would not have to put any of your own money out.

Or, I wouldn't suggest this for a large patch, but maybe just a regional rocker type patch to go with the small VBA patch.

Because most require a set number sold, and they cant guarantee the price, or delivery till everyone ordered them up to that set number, Then everyone after that set number would be charged outrageously or have to wait until the set number is reached again. Currently working with Piper, he may be able to give us a small set number, we will see. Also the main problem with the patch is the detail, in embroidery the area around the bags and pipes on the logo cannot be reproduced, it becomes just a grey blob, in other words it has to much detail. I have just ordered a new style of patch the company is supposed to be able to create in photo realistic detail, we will see.

I had all the same issues when I had regional patches made. The digitizing was the big cost and as you say there is so much detail it was impossible to do on a small patch. They ended up doing what they called a heat transfer patch with embroidery around the edge. Nice and crisp, but sort of a rubbery surface.

Here is what they came up with.

I just ordered a new 10" patch through the VBA store. They are on there, but not easily found/seen. I kept looking/waiting for the "Patch" link to be added to the category list on the main store page. I just happened to click on the "site-map" link, and when I scrolled down...there it was...!!

Apparently it was a mistake and I should not have been able to do that. Do not try it until the link gets officially blessed. Vic says he is real close and will send my patch as soon as it is official. I thought I had sliced a fat piece of the pig, but you know what they about things that appear to be too good to be true....
