Ha Ha Ha! Yeah I might have to do something like that alright, maybe I'll just change the avatar to the "Tricolour"

Meant to respond to you earlier, that is a sweet looking fairing but unfortunately as I said earlier I just could not justify spending so much on a 9 year old bike with 107,000 kilometres on it! Thanks for the photos. I did read your article the other day and its a sweet bike any which way you look at it

It looks great but the 1500 is not listed as a model that it fits!
I have emailed them asking if it can be modified as it's certainly an option, thanks for the info nmd07

It may not be able to be modified unless you use some spacers to mount it. The main difference between a 1500 and a 1600 Nomad front end is the fork spacing. The forks on a 1600 are approx an inch further apart from each other.

A pity as their price with a stereo and speakers at $850 is not bad at all

"caddyman" sorry to join in so late here. Busier than a cat cov'rin $hit.
I have the HD and bought it off a member, along with his tour pack. I had little to do with the gauges or anything. I just helped "strobe" install it. I have a website of his for you to look at. Maybe that will help you.
http://nomad.strobel.ws/hdfairing.php
I still have 2 small "holes" to fill. Maybe an oil temp. and water temp. gauges one day. I use the bluetooth radio through the speakers n the fairing but, as of yet I haven't been able to sync it with my SENA headset. Instead I have a dongle bluetooth hooked to my ipod and it streams nicely to the headset. I love the HD fairing. I stayed with the stock mirrors BTW, Let me know if I can help in any way.

Here a few photos of mine.

Thanks for your comments Jared. I hope you're planning to make the rally this summer.

Fairing

I have a 2000 Nomad 1500 and used the Harley fairing. I picked up an inner and outer piece for a total of $100 at a local Harley dealer. It had minor road rash on a corner and all the tabs were good. I made all the brackets and painted it myself. I got a marine radio (Sony) and some speakers on Ebay. If you don't do all the work yourself it could get expensive but I only have about $250 total in the whole project mainly because I had the metal for the brackets, paint, wiring etc. laying around the shop. I found a harley headlight assembly on craigslist (locally for $25, no shipping needed) so I didn't have to cut the fairing to fit around the Nomad headlight. If all I could do was bolt on parts I would probably go with the Wreckless fairing.

Ricky; Does your inner fairing use the part were the HD rocker switches are located or is that removed when installed on a Nomad? And what size are the speakers in your fairing?
