Supportthe new GA Red Light Law

For readers in GA

Support GA HB 161 which will allow motorcyclists to proceed with caution after 60 seconds through a "stuck" red light which utilizes a vehicle sensor to actuate a change to green. In GA there are estimated to be 40,000 of these sensors which fail to recognize a motorcycle as a vehicle and never change to green. Many other states have adopted such a practice.

Read up and decide for yourself at http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-poli...rs-856408.html

If you agree, contact Gov deal and your local State Senator and Representative to show your support.

Thanks for listening.

I hope LA follows the lead. We have many of these annoying traffic lights that will let you sit there and bake in the hot sun until a cage pulls up behind you.

All states should adopt this. It is definitely a problem with a lot of traffic lights. I haven't had any problems lately but ever now and then I encounter it.

Panama City Beach is ripe with them. I put one of those magnet things on my bike but it doesnt seem to do anything at all. Tried them all, rolling back and forth, dropping the kickstand on the wire, its all junk.

One other interesting thing I saw in the article was that the law would indemnify from responsibility someone who hits a MC driver turning on red. I guess the bad with the good. If we get the right to turn, we need to take responsibility to double check for clear road.

Double check on a green light is not a bad idea either.

We need that here as well, I just went through a red light this morning after it wouldn't change for me. I'll only do it if there is absolutely no one around.
