A real motorcycle?

I've owned 2 Harleys myself. Both were underpowered junk!
As a Patriot Rides I ride with all kinds of bikes but even there the Harley butt holes just won't shut up fpr one second... but I've found a way to really piss them off...

When these "Harley Yuppies" ask me why I don't ride a Harley I simply tell them, "Why would I want to ride a overpriced, under powered, antiquated dinosaur when I can ride the bike I traded my Harley in on and have a much better bike" ? The look on their face is priceless! ::)

I call them Harley Yuppies... why? Take a good look at what's riding them now a days...YUPPIES!
"IZOD" polo shirts, " Duck" shorts, "ADIDAS" tennis shoes, and those silly ass beanie helmets!

Yep, REAL bikers! ???

A real motorcycle?

When I was looking to buy a new bike I looked at all types. I love my nomad!!!!! It's what fit me the best. Everyone has there own likes and dislikes. As long you are riding on two wheels you will get a wave from me. :)

Those people with their H-D License plates on their Toyota truck, H-D T-shirt, and no motorcycle are usually the worst. Most people who actually ride (not just own) H-D's are fine.

A real motorcycle?

Since I switched from the Nomad to the ST1300 I have found it interesting that Nomad riders, Goldwing riders, Royal Star/V-Star riders, and to be fair, some Harley riders wave as we meet on the road and act normally. But a number of Harley riders, and only Harley riders, have made a point of coming up beside me and reving their engine to show me how powerful their bike is, then opening theirs up to take off, or going what they think is bat out of hell fast out of a stop sign and glancing back to see how far they left me in the dust. I never race them or pass while they are doing this, what's the point, but I confess that I often have mirrored their acceleration so when the look back I am right there where I was before a normal spacing for the speed we are going behind them. Seems to tear their hearts out. I'm not sure why, didn't bother me when a sport tourer was faster than my Nomad, in fact I never even thought to try and race one. And surely they know Harley's aren't built for speed. They usually make a second attempt, and then slow down well below the speed limit and look the other way like the scenery suddenly got very interesting as I go out and around them doing the speed limit. Strange culture. I'm glad this group isn't part of it.

I agree. I like harley's, but how can I be a non-conformist if I blindly conform to all the other non-conformist?

My general opinion is the guys who make negative comments about other people's bikes aren't real bikers, so I shouldn't take their opinions seriously. They probably just weren't hugged enough as a child :'(

A real motorcycle?

My Cousin in law got a Harley tattoo before he even knew how to ride, much less owned a Harley.

2 years later he bought his first bike - A Suzuki M50 - spent more than a used Sporty 1200 would cost.

He used to give me a hard time about not owning a "real bike" when I had a Kawa Ninja 500 and now my Triumph Sprint. He doesnt talk much about it now.

We have not told him we have a Harley now, but I keep telling my wife she needs to get a temp tattoo that says Suzuki, then ride in on her Harley. Tell him it was in solidarity of not being able to get a matching bike/tattoo.

Ignore em. Go your own way, Nomads stand out in a crowd. My 07 was $6200 with $1000 of extras.

Nothing wrong with Harleys, but.

Here is what I could have gotten in the Road King variety in that price range:
Harley Davidson Road King - 1997 flhpi - $6300 (Benton)
http://littlerock.craigslist.org/mcy/1929445216.html

or if matching my year:
2007 Harley-Davidson FLHRI Road King (EFI) - $10950 (Palm Bay, Florida)
http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/mcy/1976249714.html

No thanks.

I hate that. I ride what I ride because I like my bike, simple as that. If you ride, you are ok by me regardless of what you ride.
